Associate Membership at the Associate level is open to people with a professional degree in history or museum studies, emerging professionals (5 years or less) working at a museum or historic site or enrolled in museum studies, or faculty.

Professional This level is open to professionals (6+ years) actively employed by a museum or historic site

New Graduate Associates This membership category is open to first-time LAM members who have recently graduated with a professional degree in history or museum studies within the past 18 months.

Institutional
Small Museum This level is open to museums, historic sites or organization with less than 25 employees. This level includes up to 5 staff members.

Institutional I This level is open to an accredited museum, historic site, or organization with more than 25 employees. This level includes 10 staff members of the above institutions.

Institutional II This level is open to an accredited museum system with two or more museums or sites under their purview. This level includes 10 staff members per museum

Business/Corporate
Allied Individuals This membership category is open to individual professionals in allied industries, including engineers, architects, designers, urban and city planners, preservationists, artists, relevant non-profits, and more.
