LAM Meeting re: America250 Louisiana July 10, 2025

Notes: Main event is July 4th in BR celebration on the River but want to have events, exhibitions, and programming throughout the year not all concentrated around July 4th.
Focus is on “broader history of Louisiana”
American Revolution will factor prominently but also other themes – Civil Rights, preColombian/Poverty Point…
**Anything you’re doing that is unique/exhibition etc. that’s related to LA 250th, you can bring it to the commission, and they can vote to adopt it. If approved, you would be able to use the State logo, and they would promote it on all platforms.
You don’t have to be there physically, it can be approved virtually. Send info (what/where/when) to Russ Godwin at frgodwin@gmail.com
**Send objects from your museum for inclusion in online exhibit to Elista Istre – info@belleheritage.org. Include pictures and info. Doesn’t have to be professional photos. Elista says, “it’s crunch time!” so get them in soon!
