“Interpreting Subjects of a Difficult Nature for Our Society”
Registration is Now Open

The Louisiana Association of Museums brings the best in museum practices, breaking developments, and new vitality to the museum field. LAMcon 2015 will take place in Alexandria/Pineville along the banks of the Red River. Inspired by the saga of Solomon Northup’s stay in Rapides Parish and the deep interest in his story documented in the Academy Award winning film, “Twelve Years a Slave”, this year’s conference will explore the rich heritage and culture in the central Louisiana region while helping Louisiana’s museums and museum professionals develop the skills and knowledge to meet the challenges facing today’s museums in the interpretation of difficult subjects that are a part of our state’s history.
